Day 12: Sydney, Australia

Image
12:32 P.M. My final destination on my trip around the world is Sydney, Australia. I landed at Sydney IA. 1:25 P.M. My first trip is to take a tour to the Blue Mountains. Spanning 4,500 square miles, and only 30 miles from Sydney, this place has a large amount of tourists. The best way in many people's opinion (including my own) was to take the Zig Zag Railway. The tracks go in a zigzag direction to gain high, hence the name 'Zig Zag.' After reaching the top of the mountain the view is utterly amazing. 6:38 My final place I went to see is the Sydney Opera House. The backstory of the architecture was really funny. The architect, Jorn Utzon, kinda just peeled an orange and based of the design off of his orange peals. The Sydney Opera House is an epicenter of class and performing arts, making itself a very well known place. While I was there, I got to snag a ticket to Evita .

Day 11: Singapore

Image
11:50 A.M. Today I am going to Singapore and I have just landed at Singapore Changi Airport. 2:30 P.M. The first place I went to is the Kranji War Memorial. This memorial was made to commemorate the men and women that died when Japan invaded Singapore and Malaya. The monument has three main parts to represent the three branches of the military at the time. The columns represent the army because the army marches in columns. On top of the columns is a wing looking object to represent the air force. And above all of them is what looks like a sail of a submarine to represent the navy. 6.52 P.M. My last spot for Singapore is the Marina Bay Sky Park. At 8 billion dollars, this place has become the world's most expensive standalone casino. With over 2,500 hotel rooms, an art and science museum, and a 160,000 square foot gaming room, all contained in three towers it is no wonder why it was so expensive. The top is an observation deck with pools, and can accommodate 4,000 people.

Day 10: New Delhi

Image
11:23 A.M. I just arrived at New Delhi IA and I am excited to find out what new places I can go to here. 1:09 P.M. The First place I want to go to is the Taj Mahal (Who could've guessed!). Built in 1632, under the orders of Emperor Shah Jahan. With a modern day cost of $827 million, it is hard to think how much time it would take to sculpt the marble in the building. The Taj Mahal was made to house Jahan's favorite wife. The tomb is so large that it contains a Mosque and a guest room.

Day 9: Hong Kong

Image
11:48 A.M. Today I am going to Hong Kong, China, and I just landed at Hong Kong IA. 1:28 P.M. This stop I am going to Tian Tan Buddha. Completed in 1993, Tian Tan Buddha is 112 feet tall and weighing at 250 metric tons of pure bronze. With a stairway of about 270 steps, it is truly a sight to behold at the top as well as the bottom. There is also a bell up there that is designed to ring every 10 minutes. Something unique about this statue is that he faces north unlike the other Great Buddha statues. 4:27 P.M. My final destination is the Tsz Shan Monastery. The Tsz Shan is the largest Buddhist temple in Hong Kong, but it is mainly known for its bronze statue of Guanyin with a height of 76 meters, making it among the highest statues made.

Day 8 Almaty Kazakhstan

Image
12:47 A.M. Stopping at Almaty Kazakhstan today. I just arrived at Almaty International Airport, and it looks much nicer than expected, even compared to other airports around the world. 1:26 P.M. The Archaeology Museum in Almaty has many different species of fossils, from plants, to mammoths, to dinosaurs. From what most of the people told me, you come for the bones, stay for the architecture. After visiting, I can only agree with them. The building looks great, and even though there were many different fossils, the building looks awesome! 3:22 P.M. The last place I want to visit is the State Theatre of Opera and Ballet Astana Opera. The building looks amazing and some of the more eccentric architecture ever. (even better than the Archaeology Museum). Everyone was dressed in there finest. Only some of the more expensive tastes would really want to go here. The ballet that was playing that night was Freedom-loving and Magnificent Carmen in Astana!

Day 7 Moscow Russia

Image
10:37 A.M. Today I am sightseeing in Moscow, Russia. I have just landed at Sheremetyevo International Airport and I am excited to see as much of Moscow I can. 11:45 A.M What is probably the most obvious thing people would go to first is St. Basil's Cathedral. For a building that was made in 1561, it is still in fantastic shape. Containing many religious material such as relics, paintings, and even scriptures, there are quite a few people that come here for religious enlightenment. 1:57 P.M. The next place I would like to visit is the State Historical Museum. The SHM contains almost every piece of Russian history. With the museum containing 4.5 million artifacts, and some going all the way back to prehistoric tribal artifacts, the collection is truly ginormous. 4:02 P.M. Now my last place I was going to visit WAS going to be Kremlin Museum, but once I saw this place, I had to go to it. The place I am going to now is the Museum of Soviet Arcade Machines! In a time of wh

Day 6: Helsinki, Finland

Image
10:57 A.M. I just landed in Helsinki, Finland and it feels just like Minnesota, with larger forests and colder climates. With my heritage being primarily Finish, I thought that it would be neat to visit some of the culture of my previous ancestors.   11:47 A.M. The first place I went to is the Rock Church. This church was directly built inside solid rock. It has only natural light, and there is a sermon every Sunday, but you can still visit inside whenever you would like. This place feels very natural, even spiritual, and that is really needed when dealing with religion. 2:13 P.M. The next area I went to is the Museum of Finland. There is history from all the way back to the stone age to the present. There are four different parts of the museum: The Treasure Trove (exhibiting jewelry and weapons), The Realm (Development of Finnish Society), The Land and its People (Finnish Folklore), and The Prehistory of Finland.
