Day 9: Hong Kong

11:48 A.M.
Today I am going to Hong Kong, China, and I just landed at Hong Kong IA.

1:28 P.M.

This stop I am going to Tian Tan Buddha. Completed in 1993, Tian Tan Buddha is 112 feet tall and weighing at 250 metric tons of pure bronze. With a stairway of about 270 steps, it is truly a sight to behold at the top as well as the bottom. There is also a bell up there that is designed to ring every 10 minutes. Something unique about this statue is that he faces north unlike the other Great Buddha statues.

4:27 P.M.

My final destination is the Tsz Shan Monastery. The Tsz Shan is the largest Buddhist temple in Hong Kong, but it is mainly known for its bronze statue of Guanyin with a height of 76 meters, making it among the highest statues made.
